About Miss Erica


Miss Erica began studying piano when she was six and when in high school decided to pursue music as a career. While an undergraduate at Plymouth State University (located in Plymouth, NH), Miss Erica studied with Dr. Carleen Graff. In 2006 she completed her undergraduate degree. After graduating from PSU, Miss Erica continued her studies with teacher Bella Keyzner at The Hartt School of Music.

During her career, Miss Erica has served as the accompanist for Plymouth State University Chorus, guest pianist at St. Catherine of Siena's church in Simsbury, CT, and worked with the Jazz Band at Canton High School. Miss Erica is an active member of Music Teachers National Association and Connecticut Music Teachers Association. Currently Miss Erica is working toward becoming certified through MTNA and in the Suzuki program.

As the founder of Miss Erica's Piano School, she does not come without leadership experience. Miss Erica has served as the Vice President and Secretary of the NH Music Teachers Association, Plymouth State University Chapter. Currently she holds the position of a Corresponding Secretary for CT Music Teachers Association's Hartford Chapter. While Miss Erica's main passion and focus is shifted towards younger musicians, she believes that music can impact everyone, no matter what stage of life they are in.


Mission Statement


Miss Erica's Piano School is an educational institution, affiliated with Music Teachers National Association. Her studio is located in Canton, Connecticut and provides private instruction of the highest quality for elementary, middle and high school, adult beginner through advanced learners. Miss Erica believes there is music in every person, and that all people, through music can become happier, more confident and more creative human beings. Her mission is to provide a warm and supportive environment in which all students can explore the world of music with confidence and joy.


Services Offered


Private Piano Lessons

Miss Erica's Piano School offers private piano lessons for students ages 5 to adult. Students learn how to read music, improvise, the play popular music, classical music, and Christmas music. Miss Erica's believes that students should be well rounded musicians and therefore teaches music theory and music history, and technique. Students are certainly kept interested, engaged, and always wanting to come back. Some of her students even take the KITS exams (Keynote Independent Theory Service), play for adjudicated events. Studio recitals are held twice a year and participation is encouraged.


Fees


$30 for 30 minute lesson

$40 for 45 minute lesson

$50 for 1 hour lesson
